Aprender um idioma através do cinema ou das series é extremamente útil e interessante. A Prof. Camila faz um super trabalho: além de assistir, ela prepara o material para todos os estudantes poderem participar da reunião. Entre outras coisas no material têm dicas para discussões, reflexões e sobretudo para entender os aspetos da cultura brasileira que um espetador não-nativo poderia perder.

I loved the Movie Club because it was a nice way to improve my Portuguese. I learned new words, improved my listening skills and I got more confident in speaking!

I have found the Movie Club excellent for learning Portuguese in a relaxed, yet natural environment, with the added bonus of absorbing more of Brazil's rich culture and traditions. What I love most about the course is hearing how my fellow course mates and teachers interpret the movies, and also the possibility of occasionally meeting and talking to the artists behind the movies, be it directors, actors or screenwriters, and learning fun facts about the movies they made. Attending Portuguese Movie Club with Camila was a wonderful experience. You will watch great movies and learn at the same time. | found that Camila's movie vocabulary breakdown lessons to be extremely helpful in understanding vocabulary and cultural insights that you will not get from a text book. If you are serious about learning português and are on the fence, just take the plunge and sign up. Not only was the content of our lessons customized and relevant to what I needed, but she created a safe space for me to learn (super important for a perfectionist introvert like me). When you introduced the idea of the Movie Club to me, I was at first somewhat skeptical because learning a language in a large classroom has never worked for me, but you seemed to do it all. You gave us that large classroom experience that forced us to listen and understand; you required preparation, which focused our learning and agenda; and you provided us with small breakout rooms that allowed us with time to talk, to laugh, to discuss, and to be ourselves in a language that was not home to us. Looking forward to the next sessions and to finally reaching that level of fluency I have been wanting!
